"Valentine's Day originated in Roman times as a festival called "Lupercalia" where young women eagerly put their names into a box. Each young man then pulled a name from the box, and the woman he chose would be his to cavort with for a day, a week or even a year.

Adams says the following Six Biggest Blunders make men invisible at best and powerless at worst:

1) Guys talk to women like they talk to other men and it falls on deaf ears.
2) Guys pigeonhole themselves online with their screen names, their profiles, and their "data", eliminating all mystery and attraction.
3) Guys try to too hard to "sell themselves" online, putting the women in control.
4) Guys talk about Sex far too early, even though there are subtle ways to get women to think and talk about sex and intimacy first.
5) Guys come across as "predators", putting women on the defensive right from the start.
6) Guys let the women be the "selectors", which is exactly the opposite of the original Valentine's Day holiday.
